The Polish agricultural sector meets all the highest EU standards, in line with the „field to table” concept. The priority of the EU’s agricultural policy is first and foremost to support farmers and improve agricultural productivity by ensuring a stable food supply at affordable prices.
The promotion of organic food implies a significant reduction in chemical preparations and fertilisers (including nitrogen). Farmers, using natural fertilisers that come from their own farms, contribute to improving the value of the soil.
The requirements for raising pigs are also described in detail. Specific conditions of the animal enclosures are determined, such as adequate lighting, minimum floor area in pens and the degree of noise allowed.
The pork production cycle is also important. Prevention of animal diseases is the foundation on which food safety is based, but continuous control at every stage of its production is very important. Polish sanitary-epidemiological institutions and the Veterinary Inspection constantly monitor and control the quality and safety of food, including meat.
To this end, the Quality Assured Food Quality (QAFP) system was created, which focuses on animal welfare, environmental protection, consumer health and meat quality. A consumer choosing a product with the QAFP label is guaranteed that the product they choose is of good quality and safe.
